Announcements are a fast way of notifying a large audience about something important. They are intended to be short, critical notifications. Announcements are delivered as break-glass notifications to a user's device.

Creating Announcements

Announcements can be created and managed by users with the appropriate content admin permissions.

When creating an announcement an admin can build the audience in the same way as building the audience for a news feed article.

Admins can create announcements from the mobile app as well as from the web.

Delivery and Viewing

Each user in the audience will receive a break-glass notification about the announcement. Tapping on the notification will take the user to the announcements page.

Users can view a list of previous announcements.

• Announcements appear in the chat window and are visually similar to chats.
• Users only see announcements that they are in the audience for.

Admin Details

There are different levels of admins for announcements:

• Creators can create announcements but are unable to publish them,
• Publishers can create and publish announcements to the sites and departments they are part of, and
• Admins have overall control, they can create and publish to their whole organisation.
